Shadipity you ask! Well it's one of those things that just came to me one day when I was contemplating my life and all the things around me. The word play is rather simplistic "Shado" and "serendipity" but the meaning runs far deeper for me in any case.
Shado is my biker handle and is taken from the white horse named Shadowfax in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth. Shadowfax was seemingly fearless and could run faster than any other horse in Middle-earth. And no man could ride Shadowfax save for Gandalf which was by his own choice as he understood the stakes involved in saving their world, but he would not tolerate a bridle or saddle. I like to think it describes part of my personality rather well.
When I was working in the gambling industry there was this beautiful horse that ran in PE named Serendipity, and man was that horse a donkey, could not win a race to save it's life but I always knew that one day that horse was going to win given the right track and jockey. And low and behold one day he did, took him a while but he did it leaving all the other horses to eat his dust. I'm getting off track so back to why serendipity, well a couple of years later I discovered that serendipity actually has a meaning and it's that meaning that solidified the word for me. It's kind of how I come across web designing, serendipitously.
Oh my! After reading all this you must think I'm a right olde horse nut, well not really, for as beautiful as these creatures are I'm more of a doggie person and it's just coincidence that both parts of the word play happen to be connected to horses.
Or maybe not, I was born in the year of the horse after all. But needless to say the only horse I ride is the metal one in my garage which doesn't require me to feed it or pick up after it.
Well there you have it - the meaning behind Shadipity!
